The Whitetail is famous for what is called their, “Whitetail Wave,” this deer has very acute senses and provides a very challenging hunt.

The Whitetail Buck is regarded as one of the more difficult yet most satisfying trophy animals to hunt here at Stravon. Outside of Stravon the Whitetail buck is only hunted in two small areas in the lower South Island.

Their ‘Rut’ is in May and the deer are in hard antler beginning in March until July.
