Kaumira

Hang a left at the gate, take the first right and just down Moa Road you'll discover CRAIGMORE, New Zealand’s premier pheasant shooting destination. One of the world‘s oldest sporting traditions is alive & well here at the foot of The Hunters Hills.

Gaelic for rocky outcrop, Craigmore lives up to it's name... craggy limestone rocks jag out of the lush grounds like splits in the earth. It's a special place indeed and stalking these gregarious birds where giants of the bird kingdom like Moa and Pouakai onced ruled will give you a feeling that will take you back eons. If you don't believe us, you will only have to look down 'O Wahi Moa' (The Valley of the Moa) to discover rock drawings that date back to man’s first arrival... telling you the very same yarn we're trying to tell you now.

Natural history aside, Stravon doths it's hat to Scotland and her traditions to what is essentially two days of sport amid the shadow of Kaumira.
