Would you like an adrenalin packed hunt with a very unpredictable snorting beast that will charge you at moment’s notice?
If that is the case, then the wild Boar of
New Zealand should be your next target as it ticks all the boxes to the above question.
They are very popular game animal here in
New Zealand, and hunting them down can be extremely challenging. A big Boar in New Zealand can weigh in at 300 lbs and sport 5 inch ivory tusks.
We often use hunting dogs to make the harvest more challenging and exciting. This we call “Pig Sticking” where the dogs, find, bale and hold the pig until the hunters gets to where the action is all unfolding and dispatches the pig by ‘sticking’ the pig with knife. However, this is not for the faint hearted! We also rifle hunt these aggressive boars.
There are a multitude of colours from pure black to grey blue and black ginger.
The New Zealand wild pigs are tremendous eating.
